FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) - English
Please read also the "Program-updates, especially from November 21st, 2007
Warum registrieren ?
Only registered users have the opportunity to use all features of the image gallery, like:
up- and download of images
and writing comments to images
Possibly new features will be available for registered users only too (see "Updates").
So it is highly recommanded to be registered.
How to register ?
If you will get registered, please click
Registration
Within the opening window you asked to accept the Terms of Registration.
After you should fill the fields:
Username
Password and
e-mail
at least.
Please type in your valid e-mail adress. There we will send the activating link, you will need to complete the registration.
Your full name and country are optional, as well as your website, etc.
If there is already an user with the username decided by you, you will get an error-message.
Also it is not possible, to have two or more accounts on the same e-mail adress !
A short note tells you, your registration was successfull and you will get an e-mail with your activation code soon.
Within minutes you will get the e-mail, including the activation code
You have to click the link given to complete your registration.
IMPORTANT !!
You must activate this link within 14 days after getting this mail. Otherwise all your data will be deleted and you have to start at the beginn of the registration.
Keep this mail in a safe place, if necessary. We have your password only cryptic and may not send it to you again. But you may get another one, which you may change in your control panel.
After activated the link in the e-mail, you may get in with your username and password..
Prepairing images for upload
There is only a restriction to the size in kilobite = 250 KB.
Images will be reduced by the program to a width of 640 pixels, height in correct ratio.
Thumbs will be created automatic now!
Upload images (registered users only!)
After you have prepaired your images for upload, choose the correct subcategory. Please donot upload into the main categories !
If you would like to upload - for example - the image of a tree frog, choose Amphibien Froschlurche -> subcategory Frösche/Frogs.
Click the Upload-button in the decided sub category.
Click the search button and look for the picture on yozr harddrive.
The same you might do with the thumbs search button, if you would like to create the thumbs by yourself.
Image name: Type in here the name of the picture you will show on top of your image. It must not be identical with the file name
Description: Here you may type in what you like, to explain the image. If the scientific name is not the image name, so type it in here please, so foreign speaking visitors will know what animal/plant it is.
Please give the scientific name implicitly, either as image name or here.
Keywords: e.g. scientific name, location, area, country, a.s.o.
Please type in keywords. The are essential for the search function(s).
By clicking "submit" you have done it.
You will see a short notice, the image you uploaded has to be eyed up by the admin. Only after this procedure you will see your images in the gallery..
Image activating by admin
All images uploaded, have to be eyed up by the admin. I have decided to do this, to avoid for example porn pictures, uploaded by users, just registered in this reason.
So all images have to be activated by the admin!
This may take 2 weeks sometimes, but normally it will be done within 48 hours.
Known and reliable users will be declaired as "friends". Images from friends havn´t to be activated by the admin.

In case you found some mistakes or typing errors, you may correct all text submitted with the image (your own pictures only).
Open the picture in full resolution.
Below the image you will see the link "edit".
By clicking "edit" a window will open, within you are able to charge every text.
mailing e-Cards
Below the images in full resolution you will see the e-card button.
Clicking this, you will find a lot of settings and the text typing in fields for your e-card.
If you have typed all in and the layout is ok for you press e-card preview.
Now you may send it or start from the beginning again.
What the lightbox is?
Below the images (thumbs and full size) you see the button Album. When you activate the checkbox, all these images will be added to the lightbox. So you will have your personal album or collect them for a ZIP download.
